John Lennon: album 'John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band' will get a new version to celebrate 50 years since its release.

'John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band – The Ultimate Collection' arrives with rare material on April 16th

John Lennon 's first solo album , John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band , from 1970, celebrated its 50th anniversary last December. Now, the album will get a new version to commemorate the milestone.

The release, titled John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band – The Ultimate Collection, is scheduled for April 16, 2021, and will feature a luxurious box set filled with exclusive materials. It will include 87 unreleased recordings, six CDs, a 132-page book with rare photos and lyrics, as well as two postcards and a poster. The project and its contents were entirely curated and supervised by Yoko Ono .

To generate buzz around the new release, a trailer was launched showcasing more details of the box set, and the album's opening track, "Mother," received a new mix. Check out the content below:
